Kerry and I just spent about 3 hours online planning the renovations. I am in Kuwait and we were using video internet chat. I downloaded a trial program to draw floorplans. I would draw the floorplan and email it to Kerry. She would print it out and then we would both look at it and see what we wanted to change. It was nice that she could hold up the page and show me exactly what she was talking about. Technology sure is wonderful.
We have plenty of stuff to renovate. The kitchen is going to be just over 300 square feet and it is a blank slate right now. We are also starting from scratch up on the 3rd floor. It is about 800 square feet. The only thing I care about leaving where it was is the bathroom. Everything else on the 3rd floor has to be ripped out because it still has all the fire damage.
Well, it is just about 7am here in Kuwait so I think I will go to breakfast.

Master bath plan
Kerry and I have planned the layout of the master bathroom. It was a challenge because there are some big windows in it. We special ordered a toilet that fits in the corner. I hope it isn't uncomfortable going to the bathroom in a corner surrounded by those big windows. =)
The layout was planned on a radiant heat flooring website. We are planning to lay radiant heat strips under the ceramic tile. We are also going to put a heater behind the mirror so it won't fog up.
If anyone has some links for neat ceramic tile layouts for the bath/shower be sure to leave a comment or email. It won't be tiled for a great while so we are very open to ideas.

Welcome!
I am beginning to work on my old house remodeling project. I decided that I could keep everyone who is interested up to date. I might also give my travel destinations as I wind my way around the world. I don't think it is very interesting... but some might. =)
Hope I can actually take the time to post often. Never done this before and am willing to try.
